ABOUT
RESONANCE

2025
WHAT IS RESONANCE2025?
RESONANCE2025 is 3-day conference that will explore spaces for dialogue, connections and relationships, between the Spiritual and the Secular in the Canadian context. Through, workshops, meaningful conversations and interactive sessions, we will explore how these worlds intersect in everyday life—at work, in families, through Art, within religious spaces, and in nature.
WHY IS RESONANCE2025 IMPORTANT?
In an increasingly secular world, balancing diverse spiritual beliefs while upholding shared values can be complex. How can we create spaces where deep conversations and just relationships flourish?
Resonance2025 invites you to reflect, engage, and imagine new ways the secular and the spiritual can inform one another—building a
more resonant and connected society.
EXPERIENCING RESONANCE2025
At RESONANCE2025, we explore the interplay between the spiritual and the secular through three distinct approaches:
-
Resonance in Ideas – Engage with leading thinkers through talks, keynotes, conversations, and expert panels. Each session is followed by interactive Q&A discussions with attendees.
-
Resonance in Practice – Experience resonance firsthand through interactive workshops: music, arts, dance, film, and even urban nature hikes through the streets of Montreal.
-
Resonance in Lived Experience – Connect with ideas in motion at our exhibitor fair, where organizations, researchers, and changemakers present their work through stands and academic posters, fostering dialogue and collaboration.
WHO IS BEHIND RESONANCE2025?
RESONANCE2025 is a collaborative initiative led by:
-
Montreal City Mission (Ideator and Organizer) - A dynamic and growing non-profit organization, dedicated to justice, inclusion, and empowerment since 1910. MCM supports refugees, immigrants, and marginalized communities through legal aid and innovative social programs that promote dignity and belonging.
MCM is funded by private and public partners and by the United Church of Canada. -
St. James United Church – A historic and inclusive spiritual community in downtown Montreal.
-
Nakonha:ka Regional Council – A United Church organization that brings together and links communities of faith and outreach ministries of the United Church of Canada in Quebec by MCM and St. James United Church to connect communities, support vulnerable groups, and create a welcoming, inclusive space through church-led initiatives and interfaith partnerships.
Join us as we explore the power of resonance—where spirituality and secular life meet, transform, and inspire.
